Cover to large storm drain missing / damaged
Reported by Sue Falber at 13:57, Wed 16 August 2017
Sent to Aylesbury Vale District Council and Buckinghamshire Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1091033.
Approx 300 yards after the National Speed Limit sign on the left hand side of the road going towards Stewkley the cover to a large storm drain is broken / missing with part of the metal surround sticking up. Whilst this is actually sited in the grass verge next to the road it poses a great danger to horse riders / cyclists or pedestrians - especially as you only see it when you are literally on top of it. Should a horse veer onto the verge to avoid a speeding car coming around the bend the consequences do not bear thinking about. This damage has certainly been present for the last 3-4 months and it had been hoped that when the verge was cut it may have been fixed but as this has happened several times and nothing has happened I felt it needed to be highlighted before a serious incident occurs.

The storm drain has now got red barriers around it with Black BT weights on - this actually causes more of a problem in that horses spook / shy away from it into the centre of the road which is just after a bend on the brow of the hill - despite having been acknowledged as needing 'urgent' attention - it seems to be taking forever !
