Welders Lane and the Junction with Narcot Lane
Reported in the Ditch issue category anonymously at 19:28, Wed 9 October 2019
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1799001.
On 24th September I reported serious flooding in Welders Lane and the junction with Narcot Lane. I received a reply that you were aware of the problem and that my enquiry was resolved and that the report was closed. I do not think this is an appropriate response to what I pointed out. The issue has not been resolved and is a longstanding and on-going problem. To describe the flooding as due to "an unprecedented amount of rainfall" is completely inaccurate and misses the point entirely. This is a problem which occurs regularly even after a short shower. The flooding has been an issue for several years and is getting steadily worse. The attached photos were taken several days after I reported the flooding so you can see quite clearly that the water is not draining away properly. This flooding has been present since the end of September and has not cleared. Indeed the rainfall of yesterday and today have exacerbated the problem. I pointed out the potential danger for traffic as it rounds the bend on Narcot Lane and also as it enters Welders Lane. Pedestrians, which includes schoolchildren, have to wade through deep water to exit Welders Lane at some considerable risk. I feel that this flooding is a problem which needs proper attention and prompt action. I should be grateful if you would advise me of the action and the timing that the Council propose to resolve this significant problem.

On 23rd October I spoke to Nick from Transport for Bucks. Your team were suctioning the drain from Welders Lane which has somewhat improved the flooding situation. However, the drains in Grove Lane, fronting Laurel Cottage (the new house) are still blocked. Please would you be kind enough to suction these. Flooding still exists. patricia.tennant@outlook.com Thank you.
