Loose man hole covers outside Aldi Bicester Road
Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 22:43, Thu 17 October 2019
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1809750.
There are several loose man hole covers that bang loudly everytime a car drives over them....making it difficult to sleep due to the noise. This is an ongoing issue that only ever gets rectified for the short term ie only for several months before it needs to be reported again. Outside lane / middle lane of the Bicester Road going towards Broadfields.

Please can I have an update on this as when cars drive over the man hole cover it bangs so loudly it makes it impossible to sleep....so much so I have had to invest in earplugs. Also I am very concerned that it might cause a serious accident. I have reported this several times over the last few years and it only ever seems to stay fixed for a few months at a time before I have to report it again. Why cant this just he fixed properly?

This problem is getting worse and worse. The noise that is being generated is totally and utterly unacceptable. This is a residential area and residents cannot sleep or rest in their own homes because of the sheer level of noise this is generating. The area around the manhole cover is sunken so much the cover is actually moving up and down when a vehicle drives over it and it is going to cause a serious accident unless this gets sorted out asap. This is the third time in recent years that this had been reported and I am at a loss as to why this cant be fixed properly? If the manhole cover is not needed why not just tarmac over it?
