Extensive rutting
Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 10:20, Fri 6 March 2020
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 2043968.
There is very deep and dangerous rutting YET AGAIN in the weak haunches on both sides of the narrower section of Templewood Lane, Farnham Common through the wooded area of the earth embankments. This section is now effectively single file as it’s impossible for vehicles to pass without driving into the deep potholes and with the potential risk of causing costly damage to vehicles. It is especially dangerous at night, particularly for drivers unfamiliar with the road, when the deep potholes are obscured and full of water.
This section was resurfaced a few years back and surface dressed in 2018 and again in August 2019, in accordance with the Council’s two year maintenance agreement with its term maintenance contractor. Clearly surface dressing is entirely the wrong repair technique to prevent rutting in the weak haunches. I would assume this will again be covered by the Council’s two year maintenance agreement. However, in my opinion, unless and until the haunches can be strengthened and reinforced and HGVs stopped from using the road, rutting will continue to reoccur.
