Gateway Signage for speed limit change on entering/leaving Holmer Green
Reported in the Sign problem category anonymously at 11:56, Sat 6 June 2020
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2144424.
The 'Gateway Signage' for a change in speed limit upon entering/leaving the Holmer Green area is obscured by thick foliage. On entering Holmer Green, the speed changes from 40 mph to 30 mph, and the reverse upon leaving. This is significantly worse on the way into Holmer's green, to the point that the last few journeys I have made, I never saw the signage on the way in (and only remembered the changing speed limit due to housing). On the way out, it is clear that there is a speed limit sign, and it is possible to make out enough of the numbers to make an accurate guess at what they are, assuming you know that the UK speed limits are in multiples of 10 (although this is less important as the speed limit increases on the way out). This issue has been present for probably a week or more. I am concerned that vehicles in the Holmer Green area may, as a result of being unable to see the signage, overspeed - potentially being a nuisance, and potentially being a danger to pedestrians/cyclists.
