New Halamar Development on the Penn Road, next to Draycott House.
Reported in the Footpath / pavement problem category anonymously at 19:48, Sat 26 September 2020
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2313162.
I would like to make a formal complaint to you about the complete blockage of the pavement on the Penn Road by a large lorry at the site of the latest Halamar Development, next to Draycott House. I walked down to the shops at about 9.00 am this morning, and the pavement was totally blocked. When I returned an hour later the lorry was in exactly the same position. It is important to note that there was NO room to walk past the lorry and remain on the pavement, as it was backed into the development, and the entire cab was on the pavement right up to the gutter at the edge of the main road. This meant that I (a 70+ year old senior citizen) had to walk right out into the main road to pass by. I am concerned that a blind or disabled person, possibly in a wheelchair, or a parent with a pram/buggy/toddler etc would have found negotiating the blockage even more difficult than I did. The management at the site could not have been unaware of the situation, and it was obviously allowed to remain a hazard for a considerable time. Traffic along the Penn Road is fast and frequent. At the site of this obstruction the speed limit is 40 mph and traffic often well exceeds this, and even overtakes at speed. Perhaps it is time to impose a 30 mph limit along this stretch of the Penn Road - in keeping with that in Penn and Beaconsfield - or doesn't Knotty Green have equal value and priority? I can assure you that it is equally populated compared to the other two areas I have mentioned. I look forward to receiving answers both to my complaint, and my suggestion.
Thanking you in anticipation of your earliest reply. Josephine Moseley (Mrs)
