Leaking Water Destroying Road Surface
Reported via desktop in the Road surface category by John Foord at 10:02, Fri 16 July 2021
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2868868.
Water has been leaking at this location for several weeks and has caused the road surface to sink and fail in one place and hump and fail in an adjacent piece of road surface. There are now very obvious tracks of failed road surface with a central hump between them. I assume that the water is undermining part of the road foundations and pushing up the central section where the vehicle wheels are not constantly pushing it down again.

The problem is becoming worse. Anglian Water have investigated and claim that the water is not "theirs" as there was no chlorine in a sample they tested. They claim that it must be a "spring". Having lived on Ivy lane since 1986 I can assure them that there has never been a spring on this site - its a leak!. I'm not a hydrologist but why would a new spring appear following many weeks of hot dry weather this Spring (the season)?

This problem is continuing to cause damage and with the onset of the colder weather potential danger to vehicles and pedestrians (this is a busy walking route for children and parents on the way to and from school). When the weather was frosty a few days ago ice crystals were starting to form, this will only get worse as we move into winter.
