Reported via desktop in the Sign problem category by JOHN PORTMAN at 19:53, Monday 8 August 2022

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later

WHILST CAREFULLY SQUEEZING THROUGH THE 2000 mm gap ON MARLOW BRIDGE ON MONDAY 1st OF AUGUST OUR MUCH NEEDED HOLIDAY WAS SPOILED AS I DAMAGED MY FAMILY CAR ON THE STEEL BARRIERS WHCH ARE NOT VISIBLE FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT AS THEY ARE OUT OF A DRIVERS SIGHT AT ROAD WHEEL LEVEL ! A FORD MONDEO OR FORD SMAX IS ABOUT 1976 MM THEREFORE LEAVING ONLY 24MM CLEARANCE.!! I HAVE LEARNED ( MAIDENHEAD ADVERTISER )THAT THIS HAS BEEN THE SUBJECT OF A PETITION IN THE PAST AND THE OBJECTIVE OF THE GAP IS TO STOP HGV s .SURELY A LARGE ''NO HGV '' SIGN WOULD SUFFICE AND A SET OF POLES WOULD BE MORE VISIBLE FOR FOLK LIKE ME JUST VISITING ON HOLIDAY NOT HAVING MEASURED THE WIDTH OF THEIR CAR IN CASE OF SUCH A NARROW CLEARANCE.I HAVE NEVER SCRATCHED / DENTED A CAR IN MY LIFE BUT NOW HAVE A REPAIR COST OF £1108 !! I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT YOU WILL PAY 50% OF THE COST TO ME AS A GOODWILL GESTURE .(.AA CHEQUE WILL BE BEST OR MY BANK DETAILS WILL BE PROVIDED ON REQUEST) FOR THE SAKE OF OTHERS PUT POLES UP AS AT LEAST THEY WOULD BE VISIBLE FOR ORDINARY FOLK.AND AS EFFECTIVE IN DETERRING HGVs.
