Illegal parking in disabled bays

Reported via desktop in the Parking in a restricted space category anonymously at 13:33, Thursday 18 August 2022

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later

During several visits to use one of the 2 disabled bays in Red Lion Way car park there have been vehicles not showing a blue badge. As you can see from one of the photographs the disabled signs have been turned round so anyone is parking there. The hedge is also overgrown the signs are hidden from view. The bays are not well marked now as the ground markings have faded badly. There is also a pathway by the bays that goes into another car park and as a wheelchair user I cannot access this as it is constantly being blocked by vehicles and I have to go out onto Red Lion way and Whitepit Lane to get access to the shops. This was reported by me last year but unfortunately nothing has been done. Surely something can be done about this as well as the unruly hedging as it is so unfair that blue badge holders have nowhere to park because of irresponsible car owners. Perhaps it needs a traffic warden to visit the area occasionally.

  • This has been passed to the Parking Services Team.

Subject to available resources, a civil enforcement officer (traffic warden) will go and assess, and if a vehicle is parked in contravention of a parking restriction, a penalty charge notice may be issued.
